Online Ordination in New York

Registration Required (NYC)

New York accepts online ordinations. Most areas of New York do not require registration, but if the wedding takes place in New York City, officiant registration with the City Clerk is mandatory.

Registration Required (NYC)

For ceremonies in New York City: apply online or by mail to the City Clerk's office. You'll need a letter verifying your good standing from your ordaining organization. Mail applications require a minimum 30-day processing time. Once registered, you receive a Registration Identification Number for future ceremonies.

Marriage License

Marriage licenses are obtained from the City or Town Clerk. There is a 24-hour waiting period (can be waived by a judge). The license is valid for 60 days.
