What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Church of Pride LLC (“Church of Pride,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website (“Site”) and services (“Services”), how we use it, the third parties that help us run things, and the choices you have. It supplements the Privacy Policy section of our Terms & Conditions. By using the Site or Services, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect the information you give us when you get ordained, set up your profile, or contact us. That includes:
We do not collect, store, or infer information about your sexual orientation, gender identity, or LGBTQ status. Your ordination record reflects your name, contact details, and the state you selected — not who you are or whom you love.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We rely on a small set of reputable providers to run Church of Pride. Each processes data on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy policy. Our current providers include:
We may add, remove, or change providers as we improve the Services, so this list may not reflect every provider at all times. All data is currently stored and processed within the United States.
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. Church of Pride does not store, access, or process your credit card or bank account numbers. Your name, email, and order details are stored in Stripe's systems as part of the transaction record. For details on how Stripe handles your data, see Stripe's privacy policy. Affiliate payouts are made manually via PayPal to the payout email an affiliate provides; we do not store affiliate banking details.
When you are ordained, we create a public profile page for you and list you in our officiant directory, where couples and clients can search for an officiant by name and state. Your profile may display your ordained name, ordination date, credential number, ministry rank, the state on your ordination, your photo (if you uploaded one), and your bio (if you wrote one). It does not display your email address, home address, IP address, or payment information.
The directory listing is optional and on by default. You can turn your public profile off at any time from your dashboard under Listing settings. When turned off, your profile page returns a “not available” response and you no longer appear in the directory. If you ordered a physical ID card, the QR code printed on it links to your profile; when your profile is hidden, that link resolves to a generic “profile not available” page until you turn it back on.
Some optional features use AI (provided by OpenAI) to edit a portrait or draft a minister biography. These run only when you choose to use them — for example, when you click to generate a portrait edit. When you do, the relevant input (such as the photo you uploaded or the details you entered) is sent to OpenAI to produce the result. We do not feed your information to AI providers for any purpose you did not initiate. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before using it.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (pages viewed, traffic sources, and conversion steps in the ordination flow). This relies on cookies and similar technologies and may collect your IP address and basic device and browser information. Cloudflare Turnstile may set functional cookies for bot protection, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. We do not use advertising cookies to build profiles of you across other websites, and we do not sell this data. You can limit cookies through your browser settings.
Church of Pride does not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front — but reach out anytime with questions.
We keep your ordination records for as long as we need them to verify your ordination status and re-issue certificates — generally for the life of your ordination. When you ask us to delete your data, we will do so within a reasonable time after verifying your request, subject to any records we are legally required to retain. We keep other data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for.
We transmit data over encrypted HTTPS connections and store ordination records in a database with row-level security enabled. Access is restricted to authorized systems. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information.
The Services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Your continued use of the Site or Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
